Louisiana Custom Closet Offers Things To Do On Summer Vacation Around MS Gulf Coast

Now that the weather is letting up for us here in the Mississippi Gulf Coast, we can finally start thinking about going on vacations again. School is just starting to let out, universities are graduating their students, and many outdoor venues are beginning to open their doors again.

Here at Louisiana Custom Closet, we have been looking forward to taking a relaxing summer vacation with our families and friends. This summer, we want to share some of our favorite vacation destinations with local clients and all those they love.

Here are five of the best things to do while on summer vacation here around the Gulf Coast.

1. Beau Rivage Casino

If at first you don't succeed -- spin, spin again! The Beau Rivage Casino is a great place to come for some great adult fun, from dining and gaming to fishing and golfing. No matter what it is you're looking to do, you can probably find it somewhere around the Beau Rivage Casino. Just make sure to play responsibly! The team at Louisiana Custom Closet wants you to feel safe and comfortable while on your trip.

2. The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies

Take the entire family out for a day trip at the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies in Gulfport. Not only will you be supporting a mission-driven operation, but you will be able to experience a taste of the local sea life found in the MS Gulf Coast area.

Learn more about the function of this non-for-profit organization through its many unique programs, including a dolphin meet and greet, as well as a 'swim with the stingrays' event. Like many other venues this year, space is limited at the IMMS. Be sure to book your visit well in advance. Don't forget to pack your swimming trunks!

3. Biloxi Beach And Lighthouse

No adventure to the Mississippi Gulf Coast would be complete without a trip to the beach! Spend a full day near the crashing waves, and enjoy crystal-white sands, a salty breeze, and some of the best boardwalk foods around. We personally love the Hard Rock Café just a few miles away from the beach, as well as the Half-Shell Oyster House.

If history is more your style, consider visiting nearby Biloxi Lighthouse on the shores of its namesake beach. This iconic landmark is a proud reminder that the MS Gulf Coast can persevere through anything -- including the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina. Learn all about this unique Biloxi destination, all while working on your summer tan.

4. Local Museums

Make a day trip to some of the Gulf Coast's most interesting local museums. Learn all about the history of the seafood industry at the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum. For a more refined destination, seek out the Walter Anderson or Ohr-O'Keefe Museum for a glimpse into the fine arts. Finally, let the kids run wild and free at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport.

If you do choose to visit these locations, be sure and call ahead to inquire about their ticketing, capacity, and safety guidelines. Coming prepared has its benefits!

5. Beauvoir

Beauvoir is an essential part of taking a summer vacation around the MS Coast. At Louisiana Custom Closet, we love checking out the intricate landscaping and architectures of Jefferson Davis' home. As a custom closets builder, we love immersing ourselves in new styles and designs.

No matter where you choose to adventure along the MS Gulf Coast, we hope your summer vacation is the best one yet!
